I'm excited to share a fun giveaway and discount code with you today! One of my awesome sponsors, Ruby in the Dust, sent me this cool embroidery kit to try out. I've never done any embroidery save for adding eyes, etc to a fabric doll or two. So, this was all new to me. Luckily, the kit included everything I needed to complete the project including a detailed instruction booklet. Despite my fears that I'd make a huge mess of it, I ended up with something I'm proud to hang up and display.
The kit arrived (my first time receiving mail from New Zealand!) in modern, professional packaging which is perfect for gift giving. The contents are organized in resealable bags which makes the kit easy to store or take along with you. I am a sucker for great packaging and was really impressed with what I received.
The instruction booklets included with each kit contain diagrams on how to create various stitches which I found very helpful. I'm a visual learner and found the diagrams to be easy to follow. You can choose to vary some of the stitches or add sparkly beads - make it as simple or as complex as you want!
I absolutely love how my embroidery hoop art turned out. I think it would be a nice addition to any room but I am going to hang this up in the kiddo's room. It's bright and cheery - which she loves - and it's lightweight enough that I don't have to worry about hanging it up over her bed.

Your finished work looks great, I think it's the grey background that makes it look very modern and not nanna-ish. The garden picture is pretty, I'm not sure my skill or patiences are up to it though!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blog too - another one added to my rapidly growing blog lovin' list!
ReplyDeleteI love the 'Home is wherever I'm with you' kit - very suitable for a family that moves house/country regularly!

ReplyDeletei really adore the home is whereever I'm with you and the house set... those would make adorable mini pillows for my master bedroom. the colors are perfect.
ReplyDeletehonestly... i love them all though. i'd LOVE the other three, the bird, the tree, and the flowers to use as wall art in the hoops for my studio! my shop/blog logo is a bluebird and we have lots of birds, bluebirds, gnomes, owls, even a frog prince. so those woodland themed hoop designs would be simply perfect in there....
