I rarely sew things for myself and am so glad I finally finished this project up. I had originally planned to make an Idea Pouch to take to Sewing Summit thinking it would be great for staying organized and keeping up with notes/business cards/pens/etc. Unfortunately that didn't pan out but it's finally done now and I love it! It fits a composition notebook + iPad, several pens, plus has room left over for other things. The details are what really make this a unique pattern...the pleated pocket, the pen pocket, and the closure.
As with all of Michelle's patterns, this was pretty easy to put together and is a great way to show off some cool fabric. I chose this pretty feather print from Anna Maria Horner {Fine Feathered in Pomegranate}, paired it with a simple grey solid {Kona, most likely}, and used wooden buttons I had on hand.
All patterns are currently on sale for $5 at Michelle Patterns through November 25, 2012. Grab this one for sure {this is a pattern that you can use to make a great gift for anyone on your list!} and stock up on anything else you might need for handmade gift giving.
ooo, it's awesome!!! beautiful!! I snagged up one of her patterns and tried it last night. Might have to grab this one too just in case I convince santa (me) that we need an ipad at home. :) Hope you have a great thanksgiving!
