handmade holidays: a giveaway

Along with two of my fab sponsors, Pinked Fabrics and Gingercake Patterns; I've put together a little giveaway to help out one lucky winner in handmaking some of their gifts this year. Christmas is right around the corner so time is running out. I'm hoping to make a couple of new outfits for my little one. Fingers crossed!

  4. This year I'm making coloring/drawing cases for each of my nieces and nephews. Each will hold a coloring pad and 24 crayons and can be closed up to easily take on trips in the car, to the doctor's office, etc.

    I'm making a loose, open-front cardigan for my mom using a Jalie pattern, a pair of reversible super-soft pajama pants for my dad, and a recycled wool sweater blanket for my little brother. Oh, and handmade stationary for my grandmother. I haven't gotten any farther than that yet!

  51. Oh I have some big plans for sewing pressies - a bird mobile for granny (1 bird down, 5 to go), 4 cushions for my gran, and a big redwork embroidery hanging for my dad. I'm fine about the relatively minimal time the birds and cushions will take, the embroidery is starting to scare the bejayzus out of me!

  64. We have "our" Christmas a bit early so I've been working hard. I've made a couple of pillow protectors (I love the new way with zippers that have the tabs on the ends!) and pillowcases with ruffles and embroidery for 2 of the grandkids. Also, embroidered a purse in-the-hoop for the 11 year old. I also embroidered a monogram on the 3 year old's new sweater. I still have time for a project or two!!

  139. I really like the clutch. I have a ton of plans but doubt much of it will get done. There are pj's and coin purses, a snap bag, folding totes for grocery shopping, a Bob Marly quilt, a classic truck quillow...the list goes on and on.

  147. wow, this is an awesome giveaway! I'm planning on making gifts for all the women in my family. So I really hope my sisters dont read this blog! One sister is getting a felt totebag with an owl applique. My other sister is getting a pair of slipper or maybe a clutch (if I win!!). My mom's getting a laptop sleeve for her new computer. My nana is getting fabric organizing trays for her dresser. My mother in law is getting a travel makeup brush case. Can't wait to get started on all these projects!

  149. Making lots this year ~ a couple of bags (would be nice to have some new patterns), a few mug rugs, lots of embroidered items and a few knitted things. I got started early, thank goodness and am on my way to being done. Oh, and a little skirt for my niece to go with the sweater I knitted.

  156. Because I just bought a house on my own, I'm hoping to make just about all of my gifts this year!! I'm making a wallet for my 8 year old nephew, doll diapers for my 6 year old niece, a shirt that says "My aunt is single. If you think I'm cute, you should see her!" for my 2 year old niece (everyone says she should have been born to me instead of my sister - she's a mini version of me!), and I haven't figured out my other 3 nephews yet. Pocketbooks for my friends. Lots of sewing to do!
