Sew Cute
I bought this pattern a few weeks ago from a fellow Etsy seller, Bit of Whimsy Dolls and finally got around to making a bear for Sydney! Bit of Whimsy's shop is full of ready made dolls and patterns for just about any sort of doll/animal softie you could want to make. I've never made any sort of doll and my only experience with embroidery floss involves making friendship bracelets in middle school. I did struggle giving this little bear a face but I think all in all she turned out well. What is so great about these patterns is that very little fabric is needed. Other than the felt I used for her face, this entire doll was made from scraps. Also, there are helpful video tutorials for some of these patterns on YouTube which came in handy.
I think this little bear would make a sweet gift for some of the kiddos I know and plan to make more soon. Making this bear for was a nice diversion from what I usually sew and may just put a few in the shop some day.

Very cute! I also made a softie from a Bit of Whimsy pattern, the little gnome. I posted it on my blog if you want to see how it turned out. They are great patterns! I think you did great job with the face.
ReplyDeleteYour gnome is adorable! I love that brown fabric you used. I can't wait til she has another sale. . . going to have to get a few more of those patterns. I think the lamb and monkey are too cute.
ReplyDeleteAwww.. that is super cute! Love the fabric you chose. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really enjoyed making it.
ReplyDeleteHey, I never got one of those bracelets!
ReplyDeleteLyann-I don't think I was still making those once we got into high school. Watch out! I may just make you one for Christmas ;)
